Arita Ware Extremely Fine Cherry Blossoms Ochoko Sake Cup - Hand Written by Obata Yuji
This handcrafted guinomi (sake cup), a representation of the prestigious Kakiemon style, was created by Mr. Yuji Kobatake of Ninkiln, a master in the Kakiemon style, known for its association with the Imperial Family. This particular style of ceramicware has a long-standing tradition of being favored by the Imperial Household and has even left its mark on European porcelain, influencing renowned European kilns such as Meissen and Wedgwood during the Edo period.
Magnificent Cherry Blossom Motif
Adorning both sides of the milky-white porcelain cup is an intricate cherry blossom pattern that exudes exquisite beauty. The level of realism and intricacy in the depiction is so impressive that it almost appears as if real cherry blossoms are in full bloom. This guinomi, with its overwhelming dynamism and expressive power, allows you to experience the essence of Arita-yaki.
Exquisite Craftsmanship
Crafted from the highest-quality clay sourced from Amakusa, Kyushu, these cups feature a gentle, warm milky-white hue that imparts a cloud-like lightness. They are even dishwasher safe, ensuring convenience in maintaining their beauty. The guinomi's flowing curves, adorned with fully bloomed cherry blossoms, exemplify the finesse and beauty that only the head of the Kobatake family, Yuji Kobatake, can capture.
For the Sake Connoisseur
This guinomi, with its elegant design complemented by the full bloom of cherry blossoms, is a concerto of sophistication. It adds a touch of elegance to any occasion where you raise a toast with loved ones, creating a splendid atmosphere alongside the rich aroma of sake. It can also be used to serve appetizers, showcasing its versatility. Whether used as a sake cup or ochoko, it offers endless possibilities for enjoyment.
A Distinguished Arita-yaki Gift
The Guinomi Colorful Cherry Blossom Pattern exemplifies the refined and delicate wabi-sabi aesthetic, allowing you to fully appreciate Japan's artistic beauty that has been passed down through the ages. Cherry blossoms are a symbol of Japan both domestically and internationally, making this a wonderful gift for foreign friends as well as a special commemorative or presentation gift.
